Clean lines and timeless elegance: in August 1965 Mercedes-Benz presented a new model generation of the luxury class in the form of the 250 S, 250 SE and 300 SE models, which were to succeed the ‘Fintail’ models 220 Sb, 220 SEb and 300 SE. Production of the 250 SE and 300 SE models ended at the beginning of 1968 – the 280 S and 280 SE models were introduced in January as successors, differing from their predecessors only in terms of engine and equipment details. The newly developed 2.8-litre six-cylinder engine produced 140 hp in the carburettor version, while the petrol injection version produced 160 hp. Based on the original, the miniature model of the successful W 108 series is presented in meticulous detail and is not only painted in the authentic colour, but also features a faithful representation of the entire interior. The doors, bonnet and boot lid of the model can be opened to provide a view of the interior of the car. The miniature model is supplied in Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging, which includes a screwdriver for easy removal and a glove to protect against getting fingerprints on the windows and paintwork.
