With the 123 model series Mercedes introduced a model range in 1976 which was different to “Stroke Eight” models and set new benchmarks in terms of safety. The most important improvement compared with the predecessor model series: the even more stable safety passenger compartment with a reinforced roof frame structure, high-strength roof pillar and door pillars as well as reinforced doors. A model series that provided the ideal basis for various modifications and could easily be turned into various special versions. With the W 123 miniature model a saloon that has been modified for police service will add to the private collection. Be it the white and green paintwork, the POLIZEI lettering on driver and front passenger door, two blue beacons on the roof and a megaphone loudspeaker: every detail, no matter how small, has been taken into account with this precision model. And the vehicle interior also boasts close attention to detail. As a result, the highly detailed vehicle interior features a police radio and phone headset in the cockpit area while the front passenger side features a signalling tool used by the German police. The model car is supplied in Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging and includes a screwdriver for easy removal and a glove to protect the windows and paintwork from fingerprints.
